FAQ FOOD SAFETY
Does the trainer have appropriate food safety qualifications?
Our trainers are qualified to Masters Level in Environmental Health and Safety Management. Not only have our trainers been working with food service companies for the past 9 years in food and health and safety compliance, we also have first hand experience in the food service industry.
Can they provide follow-up support?
We are here for you whenever you need us and will be happy to arrange a call out visit for any follow up issues you may have.
Is management participation encouraged?
Management involvement is crucial to the success of the training. It is important that the trainer and management work together to ensure that all food safety aspects relating to the business are addressed in the course.
What do some of their previous clients say about them?
Have a look at some of our testimonials in the “Our Customers” section.
Is the training provider interested in identifying your specific needs?
We believe making the training specific to your needs is the only way to deliver proper training. Give us a call to talk more about this process.
Are they willing to show you some of their training aids or previous work?
Our training course is available to view for free through the guest log in.
How often does food hygiene training have to be done?
There is no frequency set out in legislation for training. It is up to food businesses to decide when the staff require refresher training.
What does the enforcement officer (e.g. Environmental Health Officer) look for when assessing food safety training?
The enforcement officer will not necessarily want to see a certificate from a particular training course; rather, they will observe the hygiene practices and verify the food safety knowledge of staff. They may ask to see food safety records or ask about the food safety training that has been provided.
On completion of a course will I get a Certificate?
Yes, you will! Just send us an email confirming the email address you would like the certificate to be emailed to. We will check if payment is complete and that you have passed all your exams. There is a possibility to purchase a hard copy certificate to be sent to you by post for additional €7. If you wish to purchase a hard copy certificate, just send us an email requesting a hard copy and provide us with your postal address.
How long does it take to complete each lesson?
As in a classroom based program the time will vary from lesson to lesson. The benefit of the online training program is that the learner can complete each lesson at their own pace and review/repeat course material as often as they wish. We estimate that it will take, on average, 10 minutes to complete each topic.
