Employers are required to evaluate health and safety at work stations with particular references to eyesight, physical difficulties and mental stress. Work station analysis is an important component of ensuring a safe place of work for all employees.

On completion of this VDU training course, participants will be provided with the information necessary to ensure current legislation is complied, risk assessments are carried out and all employees are competent to adjust their work stations to provide a safe place to work in.

Who should do this course?

All employers and staff who use VDU work stations for any length of time should do this course to learn how to avoid the range of adverse effects on the arm, hand and shoulder (WRULD’s) and other parts of the body.

What will you learn on this course?

At the end of this course, participants will be able to:

  • Describe the legislation pertaining to the use of VDU and work stations in particular duties of the employer and employee
  • Describe why it is important to comply with the requirements contained in the legislation
  • List the adverse effects that incorrect use can have on the body and how to correct incorrect postures

How does it work?

You complete each module. You will take part in an assessment process at the end of each module which consists of 20 multiple choice questions with a pass mark of 80%.

The answers are marked automatically so you will instantly know if you have passed. If you don’t pass, don’t worry, you can take the course as many times as you need to with no extra charge.
